It is hard to say for sure - it probably is, but that was during the time the sights, caliber and other changes were made.
There is no such thing as a finger groove stock with an FJA stamp. The FJA stamp (used to stamp Remington and Smith Corona rifles was used quite a while after end of grasping groove stocks. Either the stamp has been faked or the grasping grooves were added and are fake, as well. Can you post any pictures?

Sorry, I meant to say a JFC stamped stock, 2 reinforcing bolts (I know that's not original for this vintage)

OK - THAT makes sense!!
I didn't mean to be so "dogmatic" in the last post, but I have seen FJA stocks with rather crude grasping grooves routed in. Just wanted to make sure yours wasn't one of them.
Just for fun, take a look at the very forward tip of the stock (the "wedge" you see when you look down the bore). Do you see a small (about 1/8") "S"?
