M1 Garand ammo clips question.
Hello,
I have inherited my father-in-laws M1
and ammo stock. My question is: The markings in the circle of the back of the clip has various letter stamping. Can you read the markings like Ammo? He had some "China" clips mixed in with some of the "US" made stamped clips. These China clips don't have as well defined stamping and they tend to load with more difficulty. I think I want to pitch the China made clips. They are crap.

Dude67, Your instincts are correct, get rid of the Chinese M1 clips. A good friend of mine had his Garand freeze up in a rapid fire stage during a Garand Match at Camp Perry in 2009. Gus Fisher later confirmed that the clip he was using was Chinese, and was out of spec

Taiwan clips. Runs with Taiwan ammo quite well. Toss away when last round goes down range.

The question and answer were very interesting. Never thought to look at my clips or even realized that there were so many different suppliers.
Only checked one bandolier so far. Good old US made Borg Warner #6's.
Thanks Ben Hartley for that link. Terrific data.
