Heard anymore about the Korean returns?

Korea to Pick Wholesaler for M1 Rifle Sale

    Question....
If these do come in country to a wholesaler/Importer,
Would they have to be Import stamped?

If so, we can only pray that the CMPicon gets them.
It's hard enough to swallow the fact that we supplied them, but now we have to buy them back.

    Anyone heard any updates?

Um Charlie hate to break it you but the CMPicon announced a while back they had no part in that deal, so I assume they will get stamped and sold at the big 5 sporting goods stores.

    Charlie,

That article you attached says the Garandicon was first made in 1926, I think a misprint, it was 1936.

I don't know, the Army started testing the Garand design in the 1920's.
Here's a pic from the Aberdeen proving ground take on July 5, 1929 or an early Garand in .276 caliber.

That was one of the ten shot guns, wouldn't that be neat! And I thought Garandicon started testing in 1919?

Smile Garand " 1926 experimental primer actuated rifles"

    More parts to the puzzle:
    Garand 1926 experimental rifle:
According to Duff's " The M1icon Garand : Owners Guide" (pg 2) "Garand continued work on the primer-actuated rifle.... in 1926 ... rifle successfully passed several military tests....The Ordnance Department rejected the basic design..."

    According to Canfield's "Complete Guide to ... Garand and..Carbine " , ( pg17),
" In 1926 , ten of Garand's newest model rifle and ten of the Penderson-designed rifles were tested at Ft. Benning in Georgia."

    ROK imports:
Last time ( maybe 4 weeks ago ) that I checked the Chosun Ilbo and Korea Times there was no new info since last fall around the Korean Thanksgiving harvest-moon/homecoming festival ( Chosuk ? ).
