People look very happy indeed. The Germans had so many troops in Norway
that the ate all of the food the country could produce. The locals were quite hungry when the war ended.

Dang, those paratroopers look kinda loaded down! They jumping into battle, or going camping?

So Stirling bombers became troop transports? Too bad they were designed to fit in existing hangars, could have been a much better package.

I see in the first photo that one of the soldiers has the lower end of his cling attached via a Clip off a Bren Sling.
In the second photo, if only that chap knew just how valuable that No5 bayonet was going to become ....

yeah because it is a Bren, One of those lesser known para models!, shortened barrel.
being an ex para i find it amusing that they are still trying to come up with different weapons in that the weight and length are lighter and shorter than the standard issue stuff. My case in point is the folding butt stuff and para minimi.
Cheers

Great photos though, could I ask for some direction to the download site?

I suspect that is because they are not paras but rather Air Landing (glider borne) soldiers. As are the lot in the second photo.

No chutes, main or reserve.
You don't know if they emplaneing or deplaneing?
