    Question M1A stock

Is there any one making slim M1Aicon stocks without the selector switch cut out? I have a heavy NM stock on mine and would like to "dress" it down a bit. TIA

Boyds' M1Aicon stock does not have the selector cut out, but I doubt it is very slim.

I've not seen one that exactly matches the M14 contours, but the earlier Springfield Inc. M1Aicon stocks weren't as fat as the current ones.

Mine is over 20 years old and when I bought it SAI was running their custom rifle shop. I had two rifles made one .243 and the other .308. The .308 I had a heavy Match stock fixed to it. I wish I would have kept the other rifle but I wish I had the other stock too because it was very slim.

    Ach, found photo!

The bottom two are commercial stocks, the lowest is the newest (a regular non-match stock), the third one down dates from the 1980's.

(Sorry for the "glare", I don't even remember why I took the photo!)

ETA: Maybe this one will be better (slightly different angle as well):

Even the modern bottom stock is fatter. The wood on the third one down is beautiful. I considered a fiberglass stock but then woke up. I also thought about buying a new stock carving it down to a slim profile. Thanks

How about a Fiberglass GI & fill in the selector hole yourself?

The GI glass stock is the best stock ever fitted to the M14icon bar none.
