    Standard Products Rear Sight

Is it possible that SP #2177xxx could have had a type II rear sight originally? Thanks.

In 1944 SP made over 100,000 carbines by April

The adjustable sights started showing up about that time. The question is: did SP get a supply or even want them? Winchester was using a mix of types but they were a big time producer. Are there any signs of staking on the receiver? It is sometimes just a light strike. BQ will know. If I recall SP didn't use all their numbers, so yours could be late

I have seen a number SPs with earlier serial numbers with both type II and type III sights.
