Mine is a great shooter, and the 32 scope mounts perfectly,
I have fitted an original REL mount, a sarco copy, one of Rogers and an IWS mount with no problem, just a little fitting as expected.

Oh and oo nasty it is not, just different to H&H made ones.
Best trigger pull I have ever had on any mill surp rifle, and that includes all my Mausers as well.

The difference here is the pad only has two attaching screws and what looks like a shim.

I don't think it is a shim,
it looks like it has been machined to get the breach side flat,
the corner bottom of the cut is round from the cutter.
The pad is set back from the ring just like the Israeli ones,
The shape of the pad is the same but as you say only 2 screws
which makes the pad shorter in length.

I stole one other picture. From the old screw holes it appears that a standard pad was installed at one time. The rifle is an early Maltby with scrubbed butt socket markings and a new serial number.

The shape of the top shoulder of the pad is different.
The H&H pads are square with rounded edge, the ones I have are.
The Israeli pads are the same shape but with square edges, and the 3 screw holes in an upside down V shape and not inline as the H&H pads?
The pad in your pic does not look as strong as the H&H ones.

That's definately not Israeli.......... To be honest, it looks like a blind man has done that in the dark with a broken file, a hacksaw and a hammer. And that's being kind...............

For the price, the rifle was essentially free. Unnumbered bracket made it attractive. I didn't bid, but saw it when looking at the thread on the No.5 rifle being sold by the same fellow.
