"Interesting" SG Carbines sold on GB today
I checked the bids earlier today on a couple of SG carbines that I've been watching on GB. The sellers will be familiar to some on this forum. The same guy ended up buying both of them. I'm not sure what he was thinking, but must have his reasons. Maybe take a look and see what kinds of issues you see with them. A main selling point on one was no Type 2 or 3 band marks on front of the stock - sure enough it has them! I wouldn't mind having the '43 (second one below) - Bob

Those guns are both turds. The same user names keep showing up buying and selling these garbage guns.

Without getting too technical so as to not give the fakers any help; does anyone care to elaborate besides the barrel band marks? Thanks.

The first one is just a train wreck and isnt even worth discussing. The second one isnt as bad,for starters check out how washed out the barrel markings are. I also like the mint condition 100% finish buttplate.

mpd1978,
One question on the first one; what is that finish? It looks almost like paint in places and bluing in others.
I agree on the second one's finish, it does look like a repark. How about the stock cartouche and the rear sight? Thanks.

I dont know what kind of finish that is on the first, but I can say what kind it isnt-that being anything you would see on an original carbine. On the second gun, you cant see the rear sight very well to make any judgements. Sometimes things just look right and that package is one of them. I dont know about the cartouche, but it really doesnt matter to me once I establish in my mind that the carbine is humped up.

He outbid me on a mostly correct S'G' with a cut down rear and front sight and took all the original parts off, put repos on and sold it with a week for about $750 in profit plus the real original parts. If you buy from him good luck.
