A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. I have an HSA type 6 slide, never seen an HSA type 5, and I don't believe the maker stamp HSA is known to be for HiStandard for sure

    M2 Slide

The 'HS' Type 5 slide on eBay that started this thread is a (Riesch) 'Type 6' M2 slide. There are two numbers on the bottom, one of which is 7161843, the M2 slide drawing number. I have no idea what the other number is - maybe a lot number or HS contract number? Also, the pic of the right side is kind of dark but if you look closely you can see the milled ridge at the top edge of the box.
