To blue or not on a Weaver 330M.8
I just got my Weaver 330M.8 back from Iron Sights and while the internals are like new and the glass is crystal clear, the body leaves a lot to be desired. I am putting it on my Gibbs a4 and am considering cleaning the body and do a cold blue. Would you do this?

Just out of curiosity was there a reason you did not have Ironsight do the refinishing while they had it apart?

I wouldn't cold blue a gun that belonged to someone I didn't like.
There are many places that will do a good finish on it that you'll be proud of. Also, 'chuckindenver' is a member here who can do a good job for a good price. He's a gunsmith and you can just ship it to him. Unlike most gunsmiths he works everyday so he doesn't take months to get it done.

Wiped it down lightly with oil, put her on. Looks right.

Over 10 years ago I sent an M8 scope to the Montana Scope Co (which I believe is no longer in business). It was in poor condition, with little finish & numerous deep dents in the tube. They stripped & repaired the tube & knobs, & sent them out for hot bluing, then reassembled it.
