Can anyone help me identify this M1 Garand Leather WWII Scabbard?

I believe that to be a converted M1903 scabbard. The maker's name would be about where the metal op-rod sleeve is.

WTG was a Rock Island Arsenal leather inspector. I have to dig out my info to get his full name.

I think it's W.T. Goodrich. He was an RIA leather shop employee, and I've seen the WTG mark on other RIA leather made articles.
Who was Walter T. Groton?

WTG Walter T. Groton Maj., USA Colt M1911 and M1911A1 .45 Pistols 1924-1926, 1928. It was a bit of a reach on my part, but I know some of these guys got around.
