    looks to me like a semi inletted stock blank for an enfield No.4.

    Whatever it is, it looks home made to me because it doesn't follow the manufacturing sequence.

    The reason I thought it might be some sort of jig rather than a half finished blank is that it has a seperate piece of timber attached to the rear.
