    Winchester bolt color gurus, help?

The more I think I know, the deeper it gets. Is this bolt possibly an original blue finish? It was stated as "brilliant" blue and "obviously" blue as well as not being grey or charcoal in the spectrum.
When I opened the box I see that it's not blue in color, but is gray to charcoal in color. The milling is brilliant and that part looks original. The sheen is from the finish and isn't oiled to make it shine, so it appears to be 'blued'. but I have another flat bolt that is what the seller described as brilliant and obvious and has the same sorta milling evident.

However, if this finish is common for an original bolt, then I'm very pleased. I need one for an early Winchester receiver buildup.

Thanks. Those are good pics. The more I look at this one, the more I like it. It hasn't been blasted with anything. I can still see serrations on the side edges of the flat portion of the top where it breaks to the round.

Yours does look pretty close. It is amazing how colors change by what light is available. An indoor photo can look totally different than a natural sunlight shot.
