Legal, not political.
I read the proposed Assault Weapons legislation today. Not only does it specifically include M1
Carbines as "Assault Weapons" but If you read the legislation, our carbines would become NFA weapons and would have to have a $200 tax stamp for each, the same as machine guns! Our hobby is in peril. If I read the law correctly, my Marlin 1894 44-40 has a 13 round magazine, and would have to be registered, also!

You read the proposed legislation??? Do you have a link to the actual text of Feinstein's bill? All I've found is "a summary" (which leaves much to one's imagination)

Our forum was setup to discuss old military guns and our desire and enjoyment collecting them.
Politics is a subject that can veer off into many directions. Currently this is just politics. Nothing has been made legal.
So as not to have bantering about that might result in ill feelings, I am going to close this thread.
