2 crates of HXP .303 at local gun show today

Nice find, 2 crates. 600 rds in a crate, span cans, clips and bandoleers, $300 a crate (50 cents a round). U.P.S. label notes it was originally shipped to a gentleman in Arizona from Century International Arms, Albans, VT., two of five crates. Hoped for more but I was not the only pig at the trough! That is a very big win! When you get around to cracking them, pay attention to the chargers they are loaded in. Quite a few of these older crates of HXP have been found to have old British chargers of WW1 vintage, which are collectables themselves.

You now have a lot of very good reloading brass... just have to empty them out first [COLOR="black"]

Thanks for the tip Son. Pulled first bandoleer for the range, chargers all Mk 1V's: mix of 'P', 'DS', 'TF&S' and 'B' in a circle. Rounds loaded randomly in chargers, not staggered. This will be my reload stock. Don

Hmmm, disappointing, the newer type with the small round nibs. Most of this type I have come across have a very course parkerized type finish and are not nice to use, marking the cases on the side.

As in you about can't get the dang rounds to move! Scrubbing the insides seems to help.

I took to some of them with a slipstone and oil, rounding all the sharp edges, smoothing the rough and then opening them out a little because they were so tight... In the end the small nibs didn't align them too well in the charger guide, making them hard to use anyway. Traded a heap off on fleabay years ago ... stuck ten in a '50 dated cotton bandoleer and got 70- odd bucks for it... Sold another three to second chance bidders and covered the cost of the whole crate of RG50, with all the ammo, half the chargers and bandoleers left.

They are coarse Son. Did the Greeks manufacture their own magazine chargers or are those U.K. production?
