This is listed at a forthcoming (UK
) auction -any thoughts as to value, uniqueness etc ?
Lot No. 145 A 7.62mm Bolt action target rifle. Serial No.0005. Built on a Long Branch No.7 .22 MK1 action. Sights removed. Butt plate missing. Grade 2. Brl.27.5 ins

Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

To be honest, sounds like a typical lash-up based on a decent rifle that was probably scrapped due to a bulged barrel or similar.
UK auction value = sum of parts.
Restoration to No7 probably not worth the investment or hassle, unless you happen to have lusted after a No7 for years and years. I've got about ten rare model restorations in hand, and frankly they are simply not worth the effort - better to save the cash and wait for a complete original to come up.

Agreed - I've got a BSA No7 so dont need a single shot No7.
As a 7.62 there are better conversions about
So, as a bit of a mongrel, probably better left alone.
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

Mike tends to source items in the auction and gives the nod to certain dealers etc that are looking for them, possible why its not listed and the other stuff has been removed.
