importing/owning 37mm artillary M3 gun
Ok, I have yet to find anything on the internet,
I know replica firearms are prohib of a design 1899 or later, but,,,,, where do cannons and artillery fit in the picture?
I have a chance to buy a replica artillery M3 37mm to tow behind my halftrack. Its of course in the USA

I'd just go to customs and lay it out to a supervisor...maybe a bit up the chain. The grunt officer won't know. This one will be interesting to see play out. I don't think you'll be allowed...remember there's the war materials thing at the border...

The next question Andy is are you/would you be allowed to own a 37mm gun in Canada
? Suprisingly, the cops here are quite sensible in England
regarding artillery and the like. People own Abbots and Chieftains, 25 pounders and Mobats/wombats without any sort of hassle - as a rule. Probably on the basis that they aren't involved in an awful lot of armed crime........ but you never know! One 25 pounder owner did get a bit of grief after he'd 'legally' owned his for almost 10 years - on the basis that the muzzle brake was a flash eliminator and subject to different controls. Well, you just can win 'em all!
Maybe you could paint the barrel orange...........

If you DO get it in...I can machine you projectiles...brass can be had. Then loading it, RCBS makes dies. We can use Pyrodex.

It can be done. Contact Al Fraser or Fred VanSickle at Collector's Source Military Collectables in Acton. They've been importing/exporting cannons and artillery for many years.
