No 5 Mk1 question
Seeking input for a friend. I have an opinion but would like some non novice opionons.
This No 5 has matching numbers including reciever, stock and magazine and is the cleanest I have ever seen. I am told when it was recieved it was coated in cosmoline
including the bore. It appears unfired. Question. Is there any chance the holes in the reciever are anything other than Bubbas handiwork?

Seems odd with the condition of the rifle but that was my thoughts as well.Hole location looks like those for a side mounted scope base. Any thoughts on the $ deduction for the Bubbamod? It is a real shame. Beautiful otherwise.

Nope. That's a typical scope base that was used. A side plate and two screws...

A good TIG welder and file to suit. Refinish.

, think it would have to be re-proofed.

Yes! Because of filling the holes.
