Ross firing pin question
I just got a bolt for my 1905 mk2 ross sporter and somehow I managed to snap the end of the firing pin off. I was just wondering if the 1910 mk3 firing pin would fit, because in all the pictures I've seen they look pretty similar, and the mk2 firing pins are sold out on numrich but there is a mk3. Any help would be appreciated.

No, a Mk. 3 is not even close.
Even within the Mk. 2 there are differences.
Send me a picture of the pin you buggered and I might be able to help.

My firing pin is the pin on type and it looks like the one in this article about the mk3 bolt disassembly, Ross M-10 Rifle Bolt Disassembly, that's why I figured I'd ask.

A proper gunsmith should be able to repair and re-temper that one. I'd be more interested in why it broke and if the same thing would happen again.

I'm going to try and just replace it with another pin first. If the one I ordered doesn't fit I'll try and fix this one. I'm pretty sure the reason it broke is because I dry fired the gun a few times and all the parts are from 1905 so they're probably a little brittle.

Yes, hard to say, could be just a manufacturing defect. Dry firing shouldn't be too much of an issue AFAIK, since the collar on the firing pin is what stops the forward movement of the pin.
This reminds me of cryogenic stress relief I was reading about a few weeks ago; very interesting and you have companies in the US that offer the service.
