Hi from Dayton, Ohio. I have been a lurker and decided to bit the bullet and join in. I own a Remington 1903A3 that I have owned since 1964. The barrel is stamped with a "6-43". My father planned to sporterize the rifle (the original straight stock was cut down and all the fittings and upper handguards were long gone). The rifle was never sporterized. Fast forward to today. I found a walnut scant stock along with the upper handguards along with all the required fittings at a local gun show some years ago and have brought the rifle up to military issue. Evidently, the stock was never used as it lacks the stampings and cartouches that one would find on an issued or rebuilt rifle.

I have routinely fired the rifle and it is a shooter. I reload 30-06 rounds and have started reloading cast bullets for my 03.
