A big thank you to Doug who sorted out my registration on the page.
I have had several #1mk3 SMLEs for years one being an all original 1919 Lithgowbuild with matching numbers, The others being sporterised rifles of various calibres, .22 rocket, .25 sprinter and 7.62x39 in .308 calibre (not the original .311)
After a break from shooting for 10 years (kids will do that to you) Im back on the scene and picked up a M17 Eddystone. Built in 1917, this old girl had been sporterised and is in .25 sprinter. I am keeping an eye out for a complete stock and a .303 brit barrel to take it back to original.
The existing barrel looks OK, no throat erosion or pitting, looks pretty good actually but wont know till I put some rounds downrange what its really like.
Got a Parker Hale PH5b sight coming for it and a trigger and looking forward to the first bang
Cheers and happy shootingInformation
