Guess the rifle remains

Afternoon all,

A quiz for you, spotted the remains of a Long Lee on fleabay, not much of a stretch for us Enfield anoraks that one, but what about the other remains??

Is it one firearm or several ?

The barrel looks like a P1856/61 to me with that bayonet lug on the side, what about that breech section though and the lock plate isn't familiar to me, so any guesses guys, an early breech loading converted something I guess ?

dont know but I'd bet he used corrosive ammo?

Werndl. Rotary breech, side-lock external hammer. Assuming of course that the breech is open, which would put that thumb lever on the right hand side. If the breech is closed (hard to tell from the photo) then not a Werndl...............

'boltaction' is a millisecond faster than me!

Austrian Model 1867 Werndl. This rifle model was in .42 caliber and saw service until replaced around 1886 by a magazine rifle.

Multiple weapons. One part appears to be an early Lee Enfield bolt - possibly a long Lee'. There appear to be two receiver bodies may both be Lee Enfields. The lock work at the top of the first photo appears to be from an 1858 Enfield or similar weapon.

Great work identifying the Werndl guys, impressive detective work considering the poor state of the remains.

I used to own a couple of Werndls, and the later Wanzl, so it's one of those instant recognition things.
