GCA Journal Winter 2016 Volume 31 Issue 1
Enjoyed reading the new issue, of special interest to me, are the articles about the 2.7 million serial numbered rifles. Back in May of 1993, I had a dealer friend call me from a remote town in Wisconsin. He had just bought a small group of 22 rimfires and a shoAttachment 80031Attachment 80032Attachment 80033Attachment 80034tgun from a veteran's estate sale and there was an M1
rifle but showed a lot of service and there was no interest. I told him to buy it for me which he did. The rifle is s/n 2770090 with a 1SA 4 44 dated barrel (4.5 TE but nice clean bore). This rifle is original but has been used.

Although yours is 30,000 numbers away from the three in the article, that's nothing at that point in SA production. Because of the serial dispersion of receivers in Assembly at the same time, they could have been built the same week. The parts are practically all the same. Neat!
Real men measure once and cut.

That rifle prints very nicely...but it should.
