16-364 Garand Picture of the Day

Silhouetted against the twilight, a U.S. Air Force guard stands watch with his specially-trained watch dog on airstrip at the eighth Fighter Bomber Wing airfield in South Korea on Oct. 15, 1952. The guard, A/1C Henry H. Forsythe, 32 Avenue, Altoona, Pa., and the dog, "Ahso," are part of the well-trained security team responsible for guarding USAF planes on the flight lines. Police dogs, Japanese
bred, and trained by the Air Force for this work, are posed for night security watches at all combat bases.
