Was the Saginaw Grand Rapids plant working on both assigned serial number blocks at the same time? For example, is it possible for an S'G' with a serial# in the 1,857,XXX (early block) range to have an Underwood barrel with a 9-43' date and an IP buttplate compared to an S'G' serial# with a 3,227,XXX (later block) and an Underwood 5-43' barrel?
