Savage No 1
Don't have this manufacturer in the collection. Looked at a fine looking one the other day. Light wood in good shape with a very nice bore. Finish looked like Suncorite. Was this Savages original finish or from a later rebuild. It was a late war rifle. Were close on price so This may happen. Then just how to get it in the door past the wife.

You mean a Savage No4? A No 1 would surely be very rare.

Savage No.4's were finished in Dulite blue at the factory. Phosphate with Suncorite paint baked on would be from a post war FTR.
