Free French
During the course of the war we gave them more than 300,000 M1
rifles. When we asked for them back, the French
government said they had been destroyed.

Looks like he actually has two cartridge belts on, one above the other. You see them both at rear but only the high one in front. They aren't UK
pouches, and the bayonet doesn't look Springfield, but has a UK frog for 1907 on it. I'd love to see the markings on his rifle.
