very early Model 1889 Italian Bodeo revolver
It took a long time to finally get some good correct data on this Model 1889 Bodeo revolver.
It was given to my father from a friend that was in the US Army in Italy during WW2 and is
in very nice condition. Here is the information that I have found on this revolver:
It was sold to officers for private ownership and was without a serial number, there is an assembly number 434 but it is not a serial number. Later the Italian
Govt bought back these revolvers from the officers and stamped serial numbers and re-issued them back to the officers without charge. This is one of the revolvers that was not returned to have the serial number stamped. The first variant safety was introduced in 1894 and this revolver is without the safety so manufacture is pre 1894. It was produced by R. Fabb d' Ami BresciaAttachment 89649Attachment 89650Attachment 89651

Excellent information. I finally bought R.F. Pettinelli's book on the Bodeo 1889 and have been slowly wading through the Italian
. It corroborates what you found. The manufacturer R. Fabb d'Armi Brescia is abbreviated from Regia Fabbrica d'Armi Brescia or the Director of Arms Factory Brescia, or more simply put, the State Arms factory at or near the town of Brescia in northern Italy. Tom
