1907 SHTLE LSA Enfield MkI*** Help!
Gentlemen, I am restoring a sporterized 1907 SHTLE LSA Enfield MkI***. Luckily the barrel has not been cut. It is however missing the rear sight slide assembly. This is the one with the bone buttons that depress to change elevation. I have been unable to locate this part so I may make/machine a replica but need to see a picture or diagram of the internals to work from. Any help would be appreciated. I guess plan B would be to use the sight ladder and slide from a No1 MkIII, but I’m not sure it would be calibrated correctly on the MkI sight base.
Thanks! Salt Flat

In fact, that is more or less where I found it, back in the 1980's and I have hung onto it since, along with other odds and sods like spare Ross barrel bands, target sights, various parts for FNC1, etc. One never knows when they might come in handy............either for myself or a fellow collector in need.

BAR--- That's for sure --I looked for a long time at the gunshows.
Boltaction-- Thanks for the offering. I will keep you in mind for future needs.
KIWI--I want to thank KIWI for his help. This rifle is becoming more and more international. It was made in England
, sent to Ireland, Then surplussed to the US and now the rear sight is coming from New Zealand

Backsight leaf slide
I had to make a backsight leaf slide a few years ago, I had all the parts to the backsight except the slide with the studs. I took two attempts but I did complete the slide. I made the studs out of hardwood than cut the checkering. Each stud has a rectangular bar that engages the track on the leaf from the opposite side plus a small coil spring. I will take it apart sometime to show the home-made parts. In my photo the studs look too sharp and I have since sanded them down to look better.Attachment 98645
