I've been researching the C7CT and starting to assemble some parts for a clone build. My intent is to iron out some of the rifle specs.

For example, barrel profile, twist, length.

Handguard

Trigger: single vs two stage

Optics mount

Scope

Suppressor

Grip

Just so you don't feel abandoned with noone responding, what are your questions exactly on the Canadian C7 that you would like clarification on, most of which can be taken off the web?

Thanks for responding and sending me to some good info. I've attached some photos of what I'm looking for. Specifically, I'm looking for the free float handguard and scope mount (2nd and 3rd photos)as seen in the photos. Also, which brand suppressor is used. Manufacturer names and/or sources for locating these parts would be very helpful.

The rifle obviously did well in trials which took longer than expected 12 months, it has now been adopted by the Cabbage hats:

I wish we could import components and complete rifles from Colt Canada. Unfortunately, there is an agreement between Colt Hartford and Colt Canada that doesn't allow distributors to export them. The factories do exchange parts from time to time for Government production and sales. It may just be my imagination but I find the quality of the Canadian produced parts to be of a higher standard than parts produced in Hartford. Many of which are most likely contracted outside of the factory.

Yes, we have a love hate relationship which has lasted years, but we wouldn't be without them.

Don't forget the reason they have Royal Marines on board H.M ships is, the Navy need someone to dance with on Saturday nights! I have a lot of good friends in the RM, but they have all wanted to secretely have passed P Company, and become a Paratrooper.

We all have friends in the other units and regiments that we scarcely see except on Snr NCO at home nights in the mess. We all have to have someone to ride like a stolen horse...

Hey Brian, it's even a little more difficult than that, Colt Canada had to get US State Department permission to sell the Semi Auto ar15 rifles (and parts) to Canadian civilians.

It held the civilian sales program back by at least 6 months.

The free float tube is VERY '"90s," aluminum. The Hogue tube if you could find one without the overmold would be identical.
