Why no ABOUT MILSURPS
I'm still a young member of the MILSURPS forum having joined May of 2017 and I have always wondered about the History, the founders, and other relevant histories of the forum.
Why is there no About MILSURPS or if there is one its not made obvious. We talk about the histories of firearms and militaries but not about the forum, I find that courious.

Milsurps are not really a disease like influenza, but it is catchy. It's not really an infliction like alcoholism, but it is addictive. There is no real measure for milsurps, but you can count them. Milsurps probably won't show up in a blood test or a brain scan, unless something goes terrible wrong.
I think that it is a difficult concept to describe. Kind of like, "I can't really define milsurps, but I know them when I see them".

Think he meant the history of the forum and who started it.
Pretty sure Badger is the owner and is in Canada. That is about all I know.

Yes, that and why, was it just Badger or others? What was the original reason and has it evolved from what it was intended to be? What about the future, where is the forum going?

I personally don't know Doug? But most here are older folks, and he may be like the "silent majority" of us who feel it's best to keep a low profile in today's "electronic" world of volatility.
Just my take...

They run it like an open forum where we the participants can pretty well idle along with our passions and showing mutual respect for each other we have all been on other sites where all they are concerned about is how long there "whang" is and how high they can p*ss up a wall Oh! and also taking the beejeezers out of newbies who ask to what the majority think is a stupid question.
At least here the bad eggs or inflated ego's do not last long before they are given the long drop without a parachute never to return I may add that all here treat each other with respect and genuine politeness.
I see it like a Dr's waiting room we are all here with an addiction like Lee's, Mausers, militaria, ordnence collecting and so on here we sit and look at what the other person ails with and strike up a conversation on how best to cure it or how best to carry on with the affliction Boy and I have a fair few??????????????????????

That's an interesting question......maybe Doug needs a gentle push so he stops hiding in the background and does a piece on the trials and tribulations of running this website.
Age is catching up with us, if we do not assist with the running of the best site, we may not have it to air our views on.

personally I think the fact that I am still younger then most means I should help everyone out and start accepting deliveries of good condition surplus riles so that they can be preserved for the future.
I for one don't want anyones worthless twattle of a kid to sell a good rifle for the price of a dose of meth. had an uncle that traded off a mint unused m1 carbine in the original wrapper for some pot back in the 70s

I have been on many Forums and this is the only one that I have stuck with because of the people and how fantastic its is run by Badger and the other moderators. Without a doubt this is the best forum around in people and content.

It has to be a boatload of work for the upkeep and care, one of the reasons I've interested in an About section. If asked, I would offer up my assistance when the time comes; I would hope a resource like this would never be lost to time.
