Opinion on Russian M-1881 Shashka
Hi
I have seen this sword for sale and would apricate some opinions on if it is a fake?

This does look authentic as an 1881 Dragoon sabre with the patina correct and the staamp type correct as well, albeit I cannot see the Royal Crown on the hilt anywhere, which you might ask the seller if it has the stamp on it.
It was a relatively short sabre, 31 to 39 inches in total length. It had a slightly curved, fullered, blade with a single edge.

Added later as I couldn't find the Shashka sabre thred easily where I am currently, so this might help to get a feel of sabres using the title but not the overall length of quality compared to the Dragoon version:

Its been a while since I owned a few of these edged swords long since sold off but I hope this helps. Sad reality, its when its in your hands with balance, petina, the feel when you'll know its real or a fake!!

I think it's genuine too from the ones I've examined.
The Hanwei products don't capture the original anything...and they make everything.

Not my field, but patina etc. certainly looks right.
