Granddad's brag Pix
Attached - in theory atleast, are pix of my granddaughter's Recruit Training Course Passing Out Parade.
She is the brunette in the front rank just behind the platoon commander.
Note the wrapping paper on the present in the last photo. Her dad and sister are RAN, and everyone in our family has an overly developed sense of humour!
Well that didn't bl**dy work did it????
So much for following instructions, I'll go to plan B, email the pix to Peter and ask him to post them for me.

That did remind me of a retirement parade for a RSM. He had formerly been in the hitler jugend as a boy and actualy was awarded the Iron cross in WW2.
The family moved to the U.K. and he joined the Army. As the troops passed the reviewing stand, they gave the old "stiff armed salute" just for fun.
Pre planned, so nobody got upset about it, though I bet he was surprised
Just a small add, folks think the goose step was german but they actualy got it from Wellingtons Army.

Can someone tell me how to resize the file size so the pix will load.
I'm not a computer geek by any stretch. User yes, but certainly nothing more than a user.

Hi Paul. For future reference, you can go to...
http://bluefive.pair.com/pixresizer.htm
...and download a free utility for resizing pics. It's a snap to use, and works well. I've been using a copy for years.

A couple of comments about the uniforms. Currently the Rising Sun badge is worn on the left side of the slouch hat and the Corps/regiment cap badge is worn on the front. Also, you can see unit/organization flashes on the right side of the inspecting officers' slouch hats. These are 'hand me downs' so to speak from the shoulder flashes 1AIF wore in France
in WWI. The emu plum seen on the senior officer's hat are traditional, and hand me downs from the ALH. In my day, VN era, we only wore the Corps/regiment capbadge on the left side of the slouch hat - no flash and no Rising Sun badge and the Armour blokes didn't wear slouch hats - only black berets.
