A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Some people will be dissappointed if they buy them and try to tap out their SMLE.

I note that these are Britishicon Associated (BA) taps and dies. They will work for the No.4 rifle but not the SMLE (No.1) as the description leads one to believe. The SMLE uses 'Enfield Inch' threads which are peculiar only to Enfield.

I know that a great deal of Brit electrical equipment uses BA threads. I just checked with an industrial supply house here in Canadaicon and BA sets are available to order. For $200 I can get a boxed set.

Similarly, BSW and BSF sets are not too hard to source either, still a current standard.

    Description is correct

I see that the epay description has been changed and now lists them as for the No.4 rifle which is correct.

I dropped him a line and told him he was slightly adrift on his description. Apparently he altered things in the meantime. I got reply from him asking me where EXACTLY (his caps) I got my info from. I pointed him in the direction of the LERA site.

I just think he had been misinformed.

Don't see the LH taps listed for pedal and bottom bracket, strange?
