My experience with the Browning M2 was limited to our unit's D.A.R.E.O.D. (Damaged Airfield Reconnaissance/Explosive Ordnance Disposal) M113 which had a turret mounted M2 and C6 (M240). The M2 fed just fine from the ammo can sans feed ramp since the cycling power generated by the round is tremendous. Interesting that there is a 25mm Bushmaster right next to the dual M2 mount.

Different tasks, completely different ammo. The feed chutes are easy to navigate once you've done it a couple of times and there's a TON of ammo in those boxes at 550 RPM. With vehicles that have the ammo box close at hand and just one belt, the feed is fine but a super belt like this is heavy and comes from below so the cutes are nice. If there were a need for close work, they also have small arms on hand to repel borders. No problems there...C7, C8, C6, C9.

Just asking the size of those 50's are AFV and soldier portable ones that big it seems they are on another scale from AFV & land based efforts.

Same M2 that we use now. QCB type and the gun weighs 85 lbs. Just pic angle from hanging off the upper deck.

I have a question! What are the "ball bearing" type objects on the deck amongst the cases?

Presumably they are the disintegrating links.

I've been retired from the Army almost thirty years, but as an old tank commander, I still have these...just in case.
