    "The B*tch"

The modded SLR our SAS used in Vietnam it's a pretty good vid on a very rare weapons system goes in depth on the issues surrounding the shortening of the weapon.
I enjoyed it bit of cameo acting but still the contents there.

Special tribute to those brave operators that went in deep in very small teams.
In fact they have just recently recovered the partial remains of an Australianicon SAS operator who fell from a choppers rope retrieval system back in 1969.

Well, Canadaicon didn't carry L1A1s. So there's that... I don't think the lecturer actually knows much about firearms either. Certainly not about FNs. None of it was about making a "Terrifying" weapon.

Interesting mix of kit displayed here: ERDL jacket and Tigerstripe trousers, USAF pilot survival knife, Pattern 37 Universal pouches, very typical of Vietnam War operators using what works.

Never saw any C2A1 in civilian hands Jim although my brother had a converted auto L2A2 in his collection 40-odd years ago. If memory serves me right the Reserves were issued the C2's around the same time as C6's were issued to Reg Force units.

I don't think many if any made it out. We have a member here that's in NZicon that may have one or a clone. Easy to tell by the serial number. 0LA0000

They had the C2 along with the C1s as we did. They received the new family of weapons last though, I was in the Battle School in Wainwright and we got the new family after the line units. So the reserves changed after '87. But they DID have C2s.

From a book I have probably the original B*tch pictured in Mick Malones book 50 Years of the Australianicon SAS, Mick was also an SAS member and did tour VN in an operational capacity.

He has just released a new book on his career.

So for the little one pictured, the barrel was cut at the gas port so there was no issue with that. Then turned on a lathe...with all the experimental shortening of everything else. Gas piston would be the worst as the back end is hard. I know how I'd go about it. Those short top half kits are available in USAicon if you need one. I made up a 14 inch barreled FN long ago, still floating around I expect. Here's a couple examples by DS arms, really short.

I know a dozen guys with 12.2 and 12.3 C2 "Light Automatic" rifles...

If I recall correctly, the latest receiver I've seen was dated 1968.

There was a story about a C2 receiver cracking and it being replaced, but I'm not sure if that was the gun.

And they're all using the 0LA0000 type number? The upper/lower aren't different from the C1 lower except the number. I've seen C2s using dressed up C1 receivers.
