    Belgium M1 Helmet

Here is my Belgiumicon M1icon style helmet or to be precise M51 helmet in lovely unissued condition. I do like combat helmets with "national flags/insignia decals on the side. It is possible that the shell is refurbed/repainted hence no ink/paint manufacturer's markings. There could be some feint stamp markings on the rear rim but they are not really clear enough to make much sense of them. Interestingly the liner has the "ABL" marking that we see on a lot of Belgium kit but also "Austriaicon" possibly or probably indicating the place of manufacture of the liner. It does feel like a "weighty" quality helmet and not just a "thin tin copy".

No, that's the real deal all right. Nice and new too. I always thought their liners looked like a kids toy though, compared to the US made or ours. I see they made them in the early pattern of head harness.
