    M1917

    Hi fellas,
back to the land of the living.
i have picked up a nice to excellent m17. Al matching original, non-rebuils. When I get time i will take some pics and post. BUt i was wondering to what handloads some of you use on th eother side of the pool. I use AR 2208 (varget) at 48 gns behind a Sierra 155 gn Matchking. Lapua cases touched off by a federal 210 lge rifle primer.
By ADI's book it is a starting load and supposed to do 2800. What have you found to be an accurate load in your rifle?
    Cheers

I presume you are talking about a U.S. model of 1917, 30-06. in mine I use 150gr FNGC cast bullets with 27grs of 4759 and fill the case almost full of cream of wheat. I have tried three different kind of pointed bullets designed for 30-06 but these 3030 bullets seem to work better. this load shoots groups between inch and a half and two inch groups at 100yds.
    everyone should use cast bullets.
