    Need Oddball Taps

Can anyone give me a source to purchase a couple oddball through hole taps ? I need a #3-20 tpi and #3-24 tpi tap to complete restoration of a couple Civil War era firearms. I assume it will have to be a custom job...

    Thanks,

    Mike

You may just have to fashion them yourself, if no one suggests a source. If you've some spare screws it's fairly easy, esp. if you are just trying to clean up old threads.

Check with TRACY TOOLS in the UKicon. Email Russell and see what he has. They only advertise a small percentage of their stock.
Delivery within the week to North America on a credit card order.
My secret supplier of odd ball kit...and great prices.

    Another one ...

You might also consider the following:

    North American Tool
    815 389-2300

I had them make an oddball tap for me, 3/8"-48 tpi, triple lead. Cost was about $200 for two of them. Dunno whether this is competitive or not. Good luck!
