He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose
There are no great men, only great challenges that ordinary men are forced by circumstances to meet.
I think '50's or early '60's. but what is the vehicle? I see the gas tank, off road tires, drivers seat, but what about the steer wheel? It's facing the wrong way! That's realy adjustable!.....Frank
Those were a little all purpose mule that went everywhere and did everything. They were even armed with M60s and used for local protection. No armour but could get a fire team on location in a hurry. Carry all your ammo for you too! That would be nice. The steering wheel just moved on an axle out to where you could do what he's doing. M274??? I think? Used from 1956 to the 80s or whenever they ran out of parts.
You are correct. It's an M274. They even mounted recoiless rifles on them
Yes it is an M274 "Mule". This one is a two wheel steer. They are made in four wheel steer also.

"We're surrounded, that simplifies our problem!"
I remember the 106 but the one that would rattle would be the .50 cal. I guess they replaced them with the John Deere Gator. They were neat and ahead of their time. They sure got used as a mule! A bit rough to ride on however...
