    Coat Orgin

Was wondering if any of you can point me to where I can get this jacket, the picture is dated 1947, I'm assuming its a P37 Britishicon issue but not quite sure.

Look like a Pattern 37 with a re-tailored collar, many were modified in that fashion for walking-out dress for returning troops by british tailors at the end of the war..

    Thanks for the reply.

Makes sense, so its a tailored P37, thanks for that information.

In case anyone was wondering this picture was taken after wars end in 1947 in Greece of a Police officer.

The Greeks used Britishicon style battle dress post WWII. You can usually find some on epay. Lots was sold to reenactors to use for Brit BD. The Greek stuff has a distinctly greener color. Brit BD is brown, Canadianicon has a faint green cast to it and Greek is the greenest of all. Most of the Greek BD I've seen has an upper case sigma (looks like the letter M turned sideways) stamp inside the waistband.

    Firstly welcome to the forums!

And as for the Greek BD being the greenest I didn't know that, I must admit I do not know a lot about Greek uniforms. Hense why I was wondering what people thought.

As for getting it I'm not all that sure, not too interested in reenacting or anything. And I thought the badge was kinda neat so bought that to satisfy my curiosity.
