    That's what I thought at first as well, but look closely and you'll see the fuller. Besides, the Metford or 1903 wouldn't come close to fitting.

    This is the movie where he gets left behind and is still guarding the trenches well into the 1920's thinking that the War is still on... kind of a premonition of the "stay behind" Japaneseicon in WW2.
