New AR-10 owner needs info

Hello,
Finally made the jump from WWII to a modern rifle.
Love my collection of M1 Carbines, Garand and 1903.

Decided to make the plunge and bought a new Armalite A4 w/ Forward assist.
Bought the carry handle and front site to get me by until I can afford a good scope.
I bought 500 LC brass cases w/ primer pocket reamed/swaged and 500 147gr. fmj boat tail bullets.

I want to duplicate UGSI .308 ballistics. Not asking for a recipie, but would like to know what velocity will correlate w/ BDC on the ACOG and what powder does well. I have a chrono to dial in a load.
I like IMR/Hodgen powders.

Thanks for the links! The first was very informatve.
I already have the rifle. Its a 10A4F like pictured below but I have added a carry handle and front picatinny sight....Still unsure what scope to get.

...as soon as the bullets arrive, I will start loading. I am actually priming the brass now.
