    Very nice gun!!!
I had the StGew57 and loved it, but I'm not a "semiauto" guy, so swapped it for a Finnishicon Mosin...
But that is a real piece of art!
    Congrats!

I hope you are going to put in some range time with this beauty.

That is the only way you will really appreciate these rifles.

    Recoil is "weird" but gentle.

    Accuracy is impressive.

Spare magazines can be disturbingly expensive.

    Caveats?

NEVER, EVER fire steel-cased ammo from one of these. The "delayed blowback" system does NOT like it and nasty things can happen when cases do not "stick" to the chamber wall for the required time.

They also have a VERY short "leade / throat". Brass that is longer than Mil-Spec WILL wedge in the leade and the resulting over-pressure will do wicked things to the rifle.

Easy to clean and service, but keep a close eye on all the "fiddly bits" in the bolt head. Spare parts could be a bit of a challenge.

Other than that: lucky you! Now enjoy and appreciate your treasure!

    Thank You for your suggestions.

I only fire steel case ammo from SKS & AK rifles.

    md66948:

I'll see your AMT and raise you a PE57

(1969 Katsenes CIE import with an Estes Adams scope mount w/Hensoldt ZF4 STANAG scope)

(1982 Bennet import with a factory scope mount w/Hensoldt FERO Z24 STANAG scope)

I recently moved to PA. We need to get together and do some SIG blasting.
