    What, No Garand?

Merry Xmas to myself. Decides why did I have all these Russianicon, Germanicon, Britishicon, Czechicon, and other milsurps and no American ones? So I got CMPicon qualified and picked this up.

Pics are crappy because I keep spending my money on necessities first....like new GUNS!

Congratulations on your Garandicon purchase! Once you take it out and put a few rounds down range you will NEED to satisfy the addiction and get another and another and so on!

Congratulations are indeed in order! You now own a piece of American Military History and Tradition! You'll have fun discovering it's historical background, and figuring out what parts came with yours, when it might have seen service, etc.

Get yourself a copy of the GI Manual, or just check out the many available sources online for the necessary info to take your new M1icon down, clean and lube it (according to the Manual, with either Rifle Grease or perhaps Mobil 1 Grease on the critical points) and get some GI type Ball, and have fun! Do your homework first, the Garand does not like being run without a proper greasing, nor with the wrong .30-06 ammo. The M1 is indeed an awesome weapon - and a great deal of fun. CC

Nice and no Garandicon for me this year. This little bugger was under the tree. Rick Bicon
