Firing Pin Ident

Got my bolt tool in mail and proceeded to take apart the bolts I have. What a piece of cake with the tool. One pin had clear letters WN or NM and I'm pretty sure it is a T3. Anybody have any idea who made it?

WN is Worchester Taper Pin for National Postal Meter.

and it should be a Type 1 (early 1943).

Whats a "tapered" pin? The one i have is definitely not
T1, and the W or M has straight sides so whichever way you look at it, it can be read either way. Guess I'll just call it NPM as nothing else seems to fit. Thanks guys.

It could very well be a type 1 firing pin that was modifed to a type 2 during a rebuild. Many type one pins were so modified.

"Worcester Taper Pin" is the name of the company that made them. It has nothing to do with the actual firing pin. Taper pins are usually used to assemble pulleys and gears to shafts. Worcester made those by the millions. I guess their machinery could make firing pins, too.
