    Remington 870 Mark 1 USMC

Anyone know what the correct finish is for the shell lifter/carrier on these?

    Parkerized or black

    Thanks!

It seems parked or not parked would be the only variable. I'd have a tough time believing they would park that piece, since its black from Remington already.

I'll go with the factory black finish until proven otherwise.

Yes, repo build using original parts, ie, barrel, bayonet adapter, wood, bolt, small parts on an action from 1968.

Nice, I'm an 870 fanboy myself. Sorry, can't help with your question.

I found the info over on an M-14 forum. Piece should be parkerized, as back when these were first manufactured there were no factory black lifters.

I had one with the batch of original pieces, so put it back in since I posted this.

I made one up years ago and parked the whole thing. Most of the park has since taken some wear and tear...not as pretty as it once was.
    Regards, Jim
