    Can anyone help me decipher these?

    Hmmm...

    It could only be Natal Police during the period 1874 to 1913.
    In 1913 the Natal Police became 2nd and 3rd SAMR.
    So, if the stamps 7 38 mean a date of July 1938, then it's not a Natal Police rifle.
