    MK.II*** sight removal

    ALL,

I have successfully removed the sights from a Mk.II***. I used a USGI M-1 carbine front sight removal tool from Matrix Precision to remove the front sight base on 2 barrels. The first one popped off with a little effort. The second one took some effort, due to a burr in the set screw hole. As for the rear sight, I would remind anyone trying to remove the rear base to completely disassemble the sight and remove the rear sight leaf spring that will expose the pin that is hiding under it.

As always, this is what worked for me, your experience may be different.

    Cheers,
    Steve
