1930 broomhandle

I saw a broomhandle today but I was told it was not a 1896 but a commercial 1930. It was in mint shape very nice blue. it was german not a spanish or a chinese knock off. He was asking 1100 for it. 1. is there such a thing as a modle 1930 broomhandle, 2. can you get ammo for it? 3. do they have a following? 4 is it over priced?. thanks for any info
